This award winning artist gets the inspiration for his paintings by roaming the west with a cluster of cameras hanging from his neck. Living in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley of Western Montana, Jerry Johnson has been a full-time working artist since 1987, fulfilling his lifelong desire to portray wildlife in its natural surroundings.
With a focus on the role that light plays on his subjects, Jerry creates images that seem to breathe and appear as though they could step right off the canvas at any moment!
He creates landscapes so beautifully done, you may think you are looking through a window!
Jerry's original works are ingreat demand and he has achieved a steady rise of accomplishment in the wildlife art world. He has been accepted into juried workshops at the Cowboy Artists of America in Kerrville, Texas and he has won Best of Show and First Place Awards along with many other awards at various art shows that he has participated in.
A Feature Artist of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Jerry has won the prestigious Kinney Family Wildlife Award, along with Best of Show - Oils at the Western Art Show at Ellensburg, Washington.
